Karlsruhe Palace was built in the Baroque style from 1715 onwards as the residence of Margrave Karl Wilhelm of Baden-Durlach. It served as the residential palace of the Margraves and Grand Dukes of Baden until 1918. Today the building houses the Baden State Museum and part of the Federal Constitutional Court.
There is a nice park behind the castle.

The Karlsruhe Castle borders directly on the city center and you can therefore combine a visit to the castle with a stroll through the city. The castle garden also invites you to linger. The adjoining botanical garden is particularly beautiful.

The castle light shows in Karlsruhe are always worth seeing. During the week it's not so crowded and you can get a good spot. It's best to take chairs or a picnic blanket and a cooler bag with you. After standing for 1 1/2 hours we left with lots of great impressions.
Highly recommended, come back next year.
