The Powder Tower, which extends more than 18 meters above the water surface, was built in 1401 by the master mason Jan van Oudenaerde and is a remnant of the late medieval city fortification. The city stored their gunpowder supplies in this tower.

Beautiful view in the center of Bruges at the Powder Tower. Very well maintained and with great design ideas in the planting, e.g. with boats full of plants in the water.
