Here you cross the river "Amper".
Ammer and Amper are often mentioned in the same breath, because the two rivers together form a river system. The Ammer (and its upper course, the Linder) is probably one of the last wild rivers in this country. It rises in the Ammer Mountains (Oberammergau) and flows into the Ammersee (just behind Weilheim). Amper is then the part that flows out of the Ammersee and finally flows into the Isar (near Moosburg).
