A little less pretty than the ascent via the Dopplersteig... the Reitsteig leads up over 2,500 steps to the Zeppezauer Haus... most of the time the path runs through forest, only towards the end do the views become more beautiful

I wouldn't go down this path again. There are hundreds of steps and not suitable for people with knee problems. It may be good to go up, but I would take the train down next time.

As a family with two teenagers, it took us 6 hours to make the descent. The signs said 2 1/4 hours. I'm in good shape, but it was very strenuous and you definitely need to be fairly sure-footed and not afraid of heights.
