The Säbener Berg and its monastery deserve the greatest attention because of their archeology, history and art. Around the year 1000 the bishopric was moved from Säben to Brixen. Until then, the Holy Cross Church had been the cathedral of the diocese of Sabiona for around 400 years. The Holy Mountain is one of the oldest places of pilgrimage in Tyrol, so the well-known Ladin cloister is mentioned as early as 1503.
