The Švihov moated castle is a mighty monster from the 13th century, rough dark walls of unhewn fieldstone, in front of it a moat, which today encloses half of the castle, used to go around safely in the past. So safe it was never ingested. The Švihov estate was owned by the Rýzmberk ze Skály family, who also had the castle built.

But why the majority of visitors come here: parts of the film "Three Nuts for Cinderella" were filmed here! The scenes at the wicked stepmother's farm take place here; however, parts of the castle were obstructed and covered by backdrops ... there is not much to see of the castle (worth seeing!).
