The fruit trees hang nicely in the Altmühltal and the paths are lined with apple, pear and walnut trees. Today I took three pears from windfall and I'm curious whether they are already ripe. It's worth a try!
On the page mundraub.org you can enter free-standing trees or look on the map to see where the nearest trees are in the vicinity.

Didn't get wet and did a little lap to Neuburg. That could be a winter round. Come on the paths in the forest and the coming snow .. Thoughts on winter in September 😅🙈

Fichtelgebirge, dream gravel land. Every longer path is in good condition, enough water sources and a view into the distance!
The vertical meters and the French fries quota is a bit shaky today. We left some hills behind us for this. What you have to say: the prices of the inn on the Kisseine are really very humane! Two drinks, two french fries, 11 euros and that on a summit.
I now put my feet up and say: It's time to go!

To make things a little more pleasant, we arrived and left by train. On the penultimate hill there was a good portion of fries for everyone and non-alcoholic isotonic wheat. The hills of the low mountain range pull the strength from your legs, but it's definitely worth it.

First about the route: high meters as you know it from the Altmühltal. Concentrated and crisp. The atmosphere above Kipfenberg is really nice, but I can't ride a gravel bike without suspension, so I'm back on the gravel.
The real excitement of today's tour was my cheese sandwich. I didn't think that would happen, but I had the worst cheese sandwich of my cycling career.
Yesterday I bought an organic spelled bread at Lidl because of lack of time. That was an absolute bad buy. My trained cheese bread palate tastes nothing and says: worst bread of my cheese bread career. A sad day in this sense, but a wonderful view!

I've never been to this corner, discovering a few new ways and expanding my heatmap.I still have to answer your messages under the last tours. The last few days have been busy.

The Holledau smells like hops right now. Many varieties are in their bloom and are harvested. The tractors drive through the villages with full trailers and there is quite a lot of activity there. Everywhere there is a smell of hops with, in my opinion, slightly lemony.

Didn't take a close look at the elevation profile today before I started and that took its revenge. In the north there is a section that was not put together so well. Right through the bushes. Speaking of bushes, I would like to point out a very interesting podcast episode about Lyme disease and TBE. 50% of all Lyme disease patients never had this "rash". Why TBE is so much more dangerous and where ticks lurk.
