By train back to Strasbourg



After checking out, we cycled through the old town, which was still empty of tourists, back to the mainland.

I explored the surrounding area by bike (without recording), mentally reflected on the trip on the beach, went to the train station at midday and took the train back

The smallest hotel, the narrowest elevator, the tightest bathroom, but great charm.

Checked in, parked the bike in the hotel lounge, and off to explore the old town with

a tour of the fully preserved city wall.

After a hearty breakfast with the wonderful and friendly host Victoria, the highlight of my trip began.

After a night of storms and rain, the weather was better than expected. We cycled through the vastness of Normandy on flat cycle paths and almost car-free back roads.

Start in cold but wonderful weather. The front tire held up, which the hotel owner signaled to me with a thumbs up when I arrived for breakfast.

The highlight is the town of Montagne-au-Perche with its beautiful town square and mighty cathedral.

Then I ignored a cycle path closure due to construction work and recommended

After problems at the start due to a last-minute rescheduled tour, we rode on beautiful cycle paths past huge agricultural fields. Met a few gravel bikers at the rest stops.

I injured my foot on the flat pedal right at the start, and my injury was treated at the nearest pharmacy.



First highlight of the day:

The Palace of Versailles. After a photo shoot, I continued to the Palace of Ramboillet.

I wasn't careful when planning, and so the planned route took

After starting in Celles, Komoot first led me to nirvana. The recommended route was not there, so I had to push my heavily loaded bike through a marshy meadow. Adventurous single trails followed until I reached civilization and solid ground again through a hole in the fence.
