This is the only mill in the world where oil is still produced from seeds and peanuts every day, as it was in the past.
The miller and his family live in the adjacent mill shed.
"De Zoeker" (1672) was formerly a polder mill that was used to drain the Beemster area.
It later became a dye mill and was also used to process cocoa waste.
In 1968, the large building was lifted in a spectacular manner over the overhead lines of the railway line and brought to Zaanse Schans
