This is the northernmost mill in the Zaanse Schans.
"De Bonte Hen" (1693), nicknamed "chicken" (kip), stands out for its slender shape.
For years it served as an oil press from seeds and nuts.
The mill, built at the end of the 17th century, has survived several lightning strikes and fires.
After years of neglect, it was restored in 1975.
Under the building are still the original oil cellars, where the finished oil was once stored.
