Best Hikes to New Bridge and Picnic Site, Sedbergh

Tips

  • This is a public road bridge over the River Rawthey. New Bridge is not so new anymore. It is a monumental structure, built in the 18th century to last.
There is a picnic area on the Sedbergh side of the river. On a hot summer day you will see less of the river through the leaves of the trees, but you will welcome the shade from the heat of the sun.

  • Another stone bridge on the River Rawthey at Sedbergh. This is a lovely section of the river with a footpath between the two bridges at Sedbergh.
