This is a public road bridge over the River Rawthey. New Bridge is not so new anymore. It is a monumental structure, built in the 18th century to last.
There is a picnic area on the Sedbergh side of the river. On a hot summer day you will see less of the river through the leaves of the trees, but you will welcome the shade from the heat of the sun.

Another stone bridge on the River Rawthey at Sedbergh. This is a lovely section of the river with a footpath between the two bridges at Sedbergh.
