When there is a lot of sun there are emerald lizards to be seen. If you walk carefully, you will see one or the other lizard basking in the sun.

The ascent from Norheim is usually quite leisurely, a short passage is steep, stony and demanding. Partial steps are formed. If you start the shortest route from the main road, there is another passage over former vineyards, known to be steep and with broken stone walls.

Climbing can be a bit difficult as the ground is rugged and there are no railings. May be too demanding for people with walking difficulties etc. Ascent and descent only in daylight, as slipping can be very painful.

If you follow the "Vital tour Rotenfels" in the intended direction, this is the descent from Rotenfels. On this route it is absolutely recommended as such at the beginning, instead of having to climb 18km in the legs.

The ascent or descent, depending on where you come from, is not entirely without, you should at least have sturdy shoes, because it can sometimes be slippery.
