Beautiful to look at and full of history. The former courthouse stands on the market square and was first destroyed by fire and then rebuilt countless times. It is a landmark of the city and served as a prison and torture chamber.

Hiking

By far the most beautiful and one of the oldest buildings is the former courthouse on the market square. It was purchased by the Abbot of Echternach in 1374. Destroyed by fire in 1444, it was rebuilt in the Renaissance style in 1520. It was then rebuilt in the Baroque style in the 18th century.

Heavily damaged in the war in 1944 and rebuilt.
