A pleasant walk along the irrigation canal path, where the water partially disappears into covered channels before reappearing in an open channel a little later. This last major irrigation canal in the Vinschgau dates back to 1873. It draws on the waters of the Adige River near Goldrain at an altitude of 660 meters and ends after 7 kilometers in Galsaun, in the municipality of Kastelbell.

Unfortunately, part of the Latschanderwaalweg is currently (summer 2019) closed due to the risk of rock falls; there is a diversion through the town of Kastelbell.
This results in a few additional meters of altitude.
Nevertheless, a very beautiful Waalweg, which can also be easily reached with the Vinschgau Railway.
