Willow Church of Plech

The second Weidenkirche in Bavaria was inaugurated on 17 September 2017 as part of an ecumenical pilgrimage of the deaneries Pegnitz and Auerbach in Plech.
This is 16 meters long, eleven and a half meters wide and six and a half meters high and was born from an idea of ​​the Protestant pastor Christoph Weissmann from Plech, who also designed the model for it."It's supposed to be a resting place for the soul near the highway, it has no threshold, no door, so it's open to anyone who wants to use it." Regional bishop Dorothea Greiner said at the inauguration.The metal framework was created and built by metal workers of the disabled facility Münzinghof near Velden. The costs incurred were mainly financed by donations and grants.

Very nice area around the pasture church of Plech. There is a nature trail and a bee trail, plus several seating options to rest a little. In addition to church appointments, there are many more here, e.g. tree pruning courses are offered. The Weidenkirchweih takes place in September.

Worth seeing, even if the pastures are not yet green.
