Today's exit takes us into the Fichtel Mountains. The starting point was the large parking lot at Weißenstädter See, here you can stand in a guarded parking lot for € 1.50. We started in the direction of Therme Siebenquell. Shortly along the main road, we turned left and the first forest trail started right away. Very nice to drive because there weren't too many roots and stones in the way. Then slowly it went uphill to the "Alte Egerquelle". Here is an old forester's house with a nice covered seating area that invites you to linger. After about 2 kilometers through the forest and a nice, leisurely trail downhill, we came to the Eger spring. From here we drove back down the mountain towards Weißenstädter See. The lap around the lake was not so pleasant because there were so many people on the way to take advantage of this brilliant weather. I love a nice, leisurely trial deep in the forest.

To get straight to the point, today it was an effective 54km. Although I pressed the break at the train station in Bayreuth, the Komoot wasn't really interested. We started in Kulmain to Immenreuth, from there to the first sight, the cellar near Fuchsendorf. We drove very relaxed in the direction of Untersteinach. Then the first steep ascent was already imminent. Once at the top, we had to help catch a canary 🐤. After a grandiose panoramic view of Upper Franconia, we continued to the transmitter mast on Oschenberg, followed by a great trail to Allersdorf. Until the Siegesturm above Bayreuth we were only in the forest and on very beautiful single trails. From the relaxed path to the Wurzel / Stein descent, everything was there. I would say “absolutely brilliant”. When we arrived at the train station in Bayreuth, we scurried quickly into a rail vehicle that took us back to Immenreuth. It's good that the DB exists, because the battery was almost empty.

Today's tour takes us past two ruins of a residential building. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the first ruin, I couldn't find out either the name or the builder. Nevertheless, it is very interesting to see how nature brings this place back to itself. When we passed Zwergau, there was still a vintage truck on the roadside. It's kind of a shame that this vehicle is standing here and rotting. After strange structures in nature (Fig. 18) we came to the actual destination of the tour, the “Zisslerhaus”. The half-collapsed ruin was probably built in 1541. The name of the homestead is derived from "Zissler" (= basket, beehive). The stone found here, the so-called Epigneis, was used to build the masonry. The Zisslerhof is still well preserved in its floor plan. A wonderful place to stay. Here you can let your imagination run wild, as it was at that time ????
@UdoS the snow depth left a lot to be desired.

Boa, was that a storm 💦! "Hold on" was the order of the day. Fittingly sheltered, because with this wind the rain clouds were immediately displaced again. ☀️
