Schnackenburg, the smallest town in Lower Saxony, is a pretty, small town that lies on the Aland and Elbe rivers. It is just a shame that there is no longer a single shop in Schnackenburg, neither a supermarket nor a "corner shop". For shopping you have to go to Gartow, about 10km away (Gartow is larger than Schnackenburg and also has several shops, including Penny and Edeka, but Gartow, unlike Schnackenburg, has no town charter).
