From the observation tower you have a beautiful view over Schnackenburg, Elbe, Aland and Elbe Valley. There are several such wooden observation towers here in Wendland.

Well worth a visit: Grenzland Museum and the harbor. Unfortunately, the place is one of the losers after the fall of the Wall. At border times, up to 50 ships were moored here every day, waiting to continue their journey towards Berlin. There were several bars and shops. Today the shop is empty, no more bars and shops. We wish the place an upswing thanks to upcoming tourists.
