Towards the end of the 18th century, the Greienmühle belonged to the Realgemeinde of Greiendorf. The High Court exercised the Bamberg Centamt Höchstadt. The landlord of the property was the Höchstadt box office.[3]

As part of the community edict, Greienmühle was assigned to the tax district of Sterpersdorf, which was formed in 1808, and to the rural community of Sterpersdorf, which was founded in 1818.[4]

On May 1, 1978, Greienmühle was incorporated into the town of Höchstadt an der Aisch as part of the local government reform.
