The place was first mentioned in writing in the Fraisch book under the mountains of 1604 as "Gottesgab". Judging by the name, the property was probably a gift made to the church.[3]

Towards the end of the 18th century there were four estates in Gottesgab (castle, farm, sheep farm, 1 good). The high court was exercised by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste and jurisdiction office in Dachsbach. The manor of Gottesgab was in charge of the village and community and the landlordship of all properties.[4]

Gottesgab is a very special place on this planet. The road before and after Gottesgab is well paved. In Gottesgab itself you have to be careful, especially with narrow racing bike tires. The potholes get bigger every year. Gottesgab itself is beautiful. Surrounded by numerous ponds and horse paddocks, it has a very special aura. I like to take a break here on my tours and enjoy the idyll
