It's just beautiful in the middle of the landscape - a very beautiful pond.

The copper pond is the former mill pond of a long since demolished copper mill between Lemsahl-Mellingstedt and Poppenbüttel. For this purpose, the small rivers Mellingbek and Twelenbek, which come from the Wittmoor and meet in front of the copper pond, were dammed to around 900 m.

On and around the copper pond you can go cycling or walking wonderfully. The route is heavily frequented by dog owners, as there are many shallow spots on the lake, where dogs can go swimming in the summer, and there is also a large dog play area. The lake itself is not huge, but the area as a whole is quite extensive.
