Located around the large Retiro pond, one of the most visited areas of the park, this sculptural and architectural complex pays tribute to King Alfonso XII. Inaugurated by his son Alfonso XIII in 1922, the monument is inspired by those made to Victor Manuel II in Rome and William I in Berlin.
