The nature reserve Elisabethenwört is a river island on the right bank of the Rhine near Germersheim. It was built between 1826 and 1833 in the course of the straightening of the Rhine during the construction of the Germersheimer average. This land used to belong to Rhineland-Palatinate before the rectification of the Rhine, but now to Baden-Württemberg. The island of Grün belonged to Tullas Rheinbeschradigung to Baden-Württemberg, now to Rhineland-Palatinate.
