The Harz Border Trail is part of the "Green Belt" and runs along former border paths and the former "Kolonnenweg" along the former inner-German border. If you walk carefully, you can still discover numerous relics of the division of Germany as well as historical border markers of the Kingdom of Prussia, the Duchy of Brunswick and the County of Wernigerode. Information boards along the trail also provide exciting and interesting information.
