The hike to the Bödner pond and simultaneous stamping point 07 of the Elm Lappwald nature park runs partly on natural, partly on wide forest paths.
Peace and seclusion in the middle of the Elm, views on the southern edge of the Elm far into the Harz foothills and relaxation at the Bödner pond: you can experience all of this on this circular route, according to the information on the website of the northern Harz foothills.
From the hikers’ car park on Kreisstraße 12, you first walk along the 4-Wälder-Weg (circular trail 8) in the direction of the Bödner Teich, continue to the shelter near the Bödner Teich and continue in the direction of Elmautostraße / Elm Hochstraße.
Following the narrow trail, parallel to the Elm Hochstraße, in the direction of Groß Dahlun, it finally goes via hiking trail 28 to the Christmassy shelter and to the starting point, the hiking car park on the K12.

Experience nature in the Wolfenbüttel district.
The Weddeler ponds and their adjoining areas are an important habitat for numerous animal and plant species that rely on wetlands, a significant number of which are threatened.

      Riddagshausen nature reserve
This area serves to protect the near-natural pond landscape with extensive reed beds, forests, wetlands and grasslands.
In order to prevent the landscape from becoming overgrown with bushes, Scottish highland cattle are kept on the meadows all year round for biotope maintenance

      Till Eulenspiegel, a rogue, a fool ...
According to tradition, Till Eulenspiegel was born in Kneitlingen am Elm in 1300 and was baptized in the castle chapel of his godfather Till von Uetze in the neighboring village of Ampleben.
In the district of Wolfenbüttel, along the Eulenspiegel bike / hiking trail, stations have been set up in various villages that describe the folly of Till Eulenspiegel on information boards. There is a different anecdote to read about the goings-on of Till at each station. Eulenspiegel "as a book" is presented vividly in this way on the bike and hiking tours along the Eulenspiegelweg.

... historical contemporary history. The inner German border
Hike along the Großer Graben (part of the Große Bruch, a low-lying meadow landscape with numerous reed and willow-lined ditches up to four kilometers wide), to the Matierzoll Border Museum and the Hessen Damm, the last remaining border tower of the former GDR in the Halberstadt district.
The hike leads over a small part of the route the Green Belt Germany (route along the former German border).

      Between Elm and Aces
Both the Elm and the Asse form a mountain range in the Wolfenbüttel district.
The tour begins in the village of Bansleben, along the Altenau, which was navigable in the 16th century, on to Groß Vahlberg (Historien des Till Eulenspiegel, historic old school, the manor (Münschhausen), the listed Galgenberg and the nature reserve Schöppenstedter Teiche ( Bird sanctuary NABU)

a little bit along the green belt of Germany.
The Schladener ponds / gravel ponds.
The pond between Schladen and Isingerode is divided into 3 ponds / gravel ponds.
Most of the time, the waters near Isingerode are under discussion (leaseholder Angelverein Schladen).
The two ponds south of Schladen im Steinfeld are less mentioned, but offer a delightful landscape.
The hike to the ponds in Steinfeld and in the direction of Steinfelder Zolln leads in parts over hiking trails of the Green Belt Germany.
The former division of Germany FRG / GDR at Steinfelder Zolln should also be mentioned historically.

The Ösel is about 5 kilometers southeast of the district town of Wolfenbüttel in the area near Neindorf and is an elevation of 156 meters.
The Ösel is also mentioned as Öselberg in various maps.
The ridge has been a protected landscape area since 1966 and is covered by extensive lawns for a length of almost two kilometers and a width of one kilometer.
The surrounding meadows (poor grassland) represent a historical landscape, as it was once characteristic of large parts of the hill country of East Brunswick.

From the 16th century until the middle of 1759, the "High Court" on Lechlumer Holz served as the main court of justice for the Principality of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel.
The facility is located on a hilltop (Galgenberg) above the Oker on the northwestern edge of the Lechlumer Holz.
At the time of the Guelph Dukes Heinrich Julius (1589–1613) and August the Younger (1579–1666), numerous “witches” and “sorceresses” were also killed here at the stake or by beheading.
The hike starts from Groß Stöckel, a "district" of Wolfenbüttel, along the Groß Stöckheim pond, further over the old Schäferbrücke, and through an impressive meadow landscape to the "Hohengericht" at Lechlumer Holz. A little bit along the river Oker put the icing on the cake.

The Blue Lagoon is a former break. In certain weather conditions the pictures show the water of the lagoon in a brilliant blue. But it can also happen that the lagoon falls completely dry if there is insufficient water flow. That reminds me of the Periodic Lake, a highlight and stamp point in the Harz Mountains.

The Schalksburg, also Schalkerburg, is an abandoned hilltop castle on the west side of the Oderwald about 160 m above sea level. NHN on a terrain rising to the east. It is a large rampart east of the town of Groß Flöthe near Wolfenbüttel in Lower Saxony.
The Schalksburg is one of the best preserved grave and ramparts in the Braunschweiger Land.

Hike from Isingerode on a section of the Green Belt Germany to the historic half-timbered town of Hornburg and over the Schwedenschanze back to Isingerode.

(The Green Belt is a hiking / cycling path along the former inner-German border and extends from the Baltic Sea to the triangle (Saxony-Bavaria-Czech Republic) across Germany.
