Those roots are really reminiscent of an octopus. It's amazing that the tree still has such stability.

Erosion and the steep gradient of the gorge have exposed the roots of the ancient beech trees – they literally dig into the moss-covered rocks and, in some cases, hang freely over the hiking trail. The tangle of roots appears like a natural work of art, lending the gorge an almost mystical atmosphere.
