Hiking

The Kainachtaler Block marks the transition from the Kainachtal to the Kaiserbachtal and is notable for its rugged surface. The approximately twelve-meter-high dolomite rock is particularly well-known among climbers. The many holes and overhangs give the rock its characteristic appearance and impressively show how the typical rock formations of the Franconian Switzerland were formed by weathering.

The Kainacher Block (also known as Kaiserbachtal Block) is one of the first climbing rocks you encounter when hiking from Kainach into the picturesque Kaiserbachtal. It is located in the Kaiserbachtal, a quiet dry valley north of Hollfeld, known for its striking dolomite formations. The rock is about 12 meters high and is characterized by a holey, partially overhanging, and very firm structure.
