The Graanbeurs is located in the middle of Damplein in Middelburg. The original building was located in a different location on Dam Square. The building was demolished in 1969 because they wanted to renovate the city center of Middelburg. Nowadays the Grainbeurs is called 'Podio del Mondo per l'Arte' and it is a stage for conceptual art. Sculptor Marinus Boezem has started Podio del Mondo.
Various tiles with inscriptions are now being laid under the Grain Exchange by Pieter Engels, Herman de Vries, Willem Breuker, Lawrence Weiner and Terry Fox, among others.

Not everyone may know it, but the Grain Exchange on Damplein is not only a monument, but also a work of art. Or did it become a monument when Marinus Boezem started his 'Podio del Mondo per l'Arte' (world stage for art) there in 1976?
