Hiking
The crane on the harbor basin for the then state harbor in 1862 in connection with the major port expansion in the years 1859-62. The crane, with its distinctive curved shape, is manufactured by W. Fairbairns Engineering in Manchester, England.
It stands on a granite foundation engraved with the nameplate of contemporary King Frederik the Seventh. With a lifting capacity of 20,000 pounds (about 10 tons), it was one of the strongest cranes in the country. A large tug was placed next to the crane, which was later to serve as a berth for the harbor ferry.
