Saint Olai's Church is Helsingor's cathedral. It is named after the Norwegian patron saint, King Olav the SaintThe history of the church dates back to the 13th century when it was the size of a small village church and was built in Romanesque style. Skt. Olai's Church as it now stands was completed in 1559. However, the tower dates from 1897-98. The original spire was slimmer and called the Virgin of Elsinore, but it fell down and the church stood towerless for many years.
