The history of lead ore mining is explained at stations 4 and 5 of the "Geological Expedition" - Vesuvius pit. The lead ore deposit of Freihung extends over a length of 3 - 6 km and a width of 1 - 2 km along the "Freihunger Disturbance", it is the largest lead ore deposit in southern Germany.
