Steep stoney climb when heading out of Bakewell, but then the grassy slog becomes a nice ride with views and a drop into the Monsal Trail. This does get overgrown in the summer, part of the Bakewell Slice classic MTB route

Slog? It's ace. You might think it a slog if you are unfit and / or don't enjoy xc biking. The reward is an ace bit of downhill full of exposed limestone and the odd cattle. Only negative is the number of gates before the final swoosh down into Bakewell.

The part of the bridleway closest to the Monsal Trail is very overgrown with stingers - only attempt this section in full protective clothing 😅
