Chesterfield - Tupton Woods - Walk
A drop in temperature and some rain, Autumn has arrived overnight!
Delightful, Damp woodland surface, this is my favourite time of the year, beautiful colours in the low sun and not too hot. Even some mushrooms seem to have popped-up overnight as well!

Hathersage - Derwent Loop - Walk
Sunny & warm, early Autumn walk from Hathersage along the River Derwent, through Goose Wood to the Stepping Stones. Then a lung-buster climb up past Offerton Hall with great views of the Valley and back down through Dunge Wood.

Île de Ré - Loix Peninsula - Reverse Gravel Loop
Magnificent Mountain bike ride, this time a loop around the Peninsula in the opposite direction. Keeping away from the cycleways as much as possible and a ride along the beach as well.

Île de Ré - Plage des Grenettes - Les Gouillauds Walk
Another paddle in the Atlantic along the beautiful beaches on the South Coast of the Island and return through the Dunes.
There are many WWII Bunkers (Blockhaus) dotted along the French West Coast, due to erosion many are now succumbing to the Sea

Île de Ré - Sainte-Marie-de-Ré Loop
Ride along the cycleways for a loop around the typical, lovely old Town of Sainte-Marie-de-Ré. The non-commercial, original town is centred around the Church, there is a Carrefour supermarket elsewhere. Narrow flower-lined streets with rain drainage channel down the centre.

Île de Ré - La Couarde-sur-Mer - Walk
Very pretty little Old Town, centred around the Church, nice little cafés & shops. On the main road (Av. le Mail) there's a Carrefour supermarket which is surprisingly large inside & well stocked. Several restaurants at the side of the road.

Île de Ré - Loix Peninsula - Gravel Loop
A cracking mountain bike ride around the Loix Peninsula. Plenty of Gravel Singletack avoiding the cycleways and the elderly people on their step-thru ebikes. It's fantastic to see older people being enabled to get out and enjoy later life by riding in the fresh air.

Île de Ré - La Flotte - Loop
A loop to another beautiful old Port on the North side of the Island. This time I took a gamble with some off-piste which did not pay off. Unless you know the woods, most of the tracks are soft sand, terrible on a bike. Churned-up by horse-riding, plus some blockages…

Île de Ré - Rivedoux-Plage - Walk
Rivedoux-Plage is the Town at the end of the Toll Bridge from mainland France (La Rochelle). Lots of subtle car parking space, motorhome parking & camping sites blend nicely without spoiling the Town.
A popular entry point onto the bicycle network which covers the entire Island.

Île de Ré - Saint-Martin-de-Ré
Another loop to the North side of the Island via the vineyards. Due to the dry Summer, the Grapes are mostly very small or non-existent.
The beautiful, Walled, Port Town of Saint-Martin-de-Ré is very popular, a step back in time it reminds me of Venice.

Île de Ré - Le Bassin du Goisil
Lovely Little Loop across the Island and along the North coast cycleway. Around the Windsurfing School in the picturesque Bassin du Goisil, then back through Les Salines (Salt making)🧂 and the Vineyards🍇 (Winemaking)🍷

Nice photo's...... Only problem with taking photos is that it tends to interfere with my rhythm. I have enough problems with sometimes having to refer to the map more than I'd like.
