About SteveP

I ride because the outside is a great place to explore. I prefer to keep off road where possible, looking for bridleways / cycle routes to get out into the countryside with its fresh air, views and tranquility.
Major bonus is it helps to keep my stress levels down :)

A rerun of last months trip as I really enjoyed the trip across South London, looking at the sights and the variety of buildings.
Mid part of the trip along River Lea navigation is just brilliant, calming and zone out riding.
The last chunk is using the Great North way, more functional to get me home but the knees certainly appreciate the tarmac. Also takes me past Spoke Cycles for a big slice of cake as a reward.

A tweak to the start of one of my favourite loops to reduce the road sections getting to Chicksands Woods and make it a little more gravelly.

An alternative end section fitted in to one of my favourite loops, using Lost lanes 22 from Sandy to Letchworth - avoiding the wind turbine gravel track & overgrown bridleway water tower climb (just south of Biggleswade A1).
Easier on the knees thanks to the tarmac but leave a little bit in the tank for Ashwell & Bygrave hill climbs.

A great days cycling across London, River Lea Navigation Route 1, Cole Green Way and the Great North Way Route 12, resulting in a large proportion of cycle paths.
My previous ride used Regents canal to get from Kings X to Limehouse, whereas this v2 uses the NCN4 / Eurovelo Route 2 south of the Thames.
Almost traffic free between Limehouse (River Thames) & Welwyn GC. That's the 'better half' if you don't fancy the full route.
The gradient south of Welwyn lends itself to cycling toward London, although I tend to train first & cycle back.
Complete the loop with a train between Letchworth to Kings X / St.Pancras.
