Canal commute
Having gone to Dunstable after work, took the opportunity to pick up Greenway/ NCN6 to Leighton and then a peaceful ride along Grand Union canal to MK before turning for home. Robust head wind to begin the ride soon turned to a gentle push home from MK.

A1 route home
Roadworks at Apsley End finally completed so I'm back on my preferred low traffic but direct route.
Unfortunately headwind all the way🙄

Friday commute home
Another work week ending with a steady countryside commute home.
Finally there is some building action at the site of new Luton Town ground after months of ground works.

Nice start to Bank Hol weekend
A pleasant commute home across the fields, with a light wind easing me home.
A detour further down Icknield Way than usual as Apsley End road to Shillington is closed for works.

Commute home via Wrest Park / Clophill
Tried a Westerly divert around Apsley End road closure. Offroad was more agricultural than Icknield Way plus a walking section to get into Clophill.
Not as quick as I thought......

Mixed loop to Grafham
A nice big loop with fair amount of bridleway / low traffic roads.
Bit of a divert exiting St Neots to Abbotsley because of A421 road building but worth it for the long offroad to Sandy.

1st commute home this year
Sun is out and fields are drying out meaning home commuting is back on the cards.
Hopefully the first of many...

Old favourite
A favourite low traffic loop, with plenty of gravel / bridleway. A chance to see if the fields are drying out without risking any Hike a Bike

After yesterday's gruelling effort in Zwift Games final stage, needed an easy low stress loop today. Included a coffee stop at RSPB Sandy to enjoy the sun, nature and birdsong.

Was a tough start with the sticky bridleways and robust easterly wind. However trails were drying out nicely and rideable all the way.
Needed a couple of stops shortly after to let the knees recover, which included an overpriced ice cream on the river. Much needed though :)
The wind was then on my back

Nice to get out in the fresh air again as it's been a while. Decided to track a loop using National Byway roads to avoid any risk of a sloppy hike a bike on my usual routes.
A pleasant route out through the countryside with hedgerows shielding some of the gusting wind. Roads not particularly busy either which is a bonus.

The flooding along many of my usual routes encouraged me to make a change and try the lessor known country roads north of Bedford. Fairly low traffic with a great cafe stop at Keysoe.

A quick spin to get some fresh air in the lungs. Ncn 51 route east is blocked by flooding after the a421 bridge crossing between Marina and Danish Camp + north to Go Outdoors.
Turned back into town for a coffee and made my way back home. A nice bright day to be out after the horror show we've seen recently.

Nice long loop using bridleways/ gravel/ low traffic roads. Section between Bedford & Grafham uses the 3 Shires Way. Great pitstop at Grafham community shop & pub half way round. A much better option than stopping at Grafham Water itself.
