The somewhat older board provides information about the heap and the accessible paths. The heap was filled with tailings from the Brassert and Fürst Leopold / Wulfen mines in Dorsten. Due to its shape and development, it has achieved a high ecological value as a refuge for flora and fauna. As a landscape structure on the border of the metropolitan area, it allows far-reaching views of the industrial region of the northern Ruhr area. The filling took place from 1955 to 1992. The bulk volume is 14.6 million tons. (Text Regionalverband Ruhrgebiet, formerly Kommunalverband Ruhrgebiet) - The old circular route is little used (see pictures), but passable.
