The Dünnebierhaus is one of Zwickau's oldest buildings. Niclas Römer, brother of the Zwickau patrician and district governor Martin Römer, had the building constructed in 1480, presumably by Arnold von Westfalen.

The impressive town house at the eastern end of the main market square features striking curtained arches and a five-story stepped gable.

The rooms on the first floor have magnificent original wood-beamed ceilings. It was named after the E.G. Dünnebier grocery store. Since 1984, the city administration has used the building, which was recently extensively renovated, as a wedding venue.
