Small round around the Dhünntalsperre in the most beautiful sunny weather in the idyllic Bergisches Land. Even the initially moody teenagers were quite impressed later. The slopes are not to be underestimated, so flip-flops are not recommended. 😉 The only downside: Unfortunately, you can't go directly to the lake because the bank area is closed to visitors due to its use as a drinking water reservoir.

Nice tour with my brother through Cologne's ceremonial and showpiece Marienburg - as we thought at first. Then surprisingly varied, with an exciting mix of Bauhaus architecture, English country house style and stately buildings. The last part of the way we then took the tram. 🤗

Bike ride with my 10-year-old daughter from Daun to Gerolstein. Beautiful landscape, mostly quiet paths, but with strenuous climbs. Can not say which of us two moaned more. 🤗

First through the monotonous industrial area of Wittlich, this part of the Maare-Moselle Cycle Route turns out to be a very idyllic drive along the Lieser stream, surrounded by meadows, fields, vineyards and small villages such as the Klostermühle Siebenborn. On the Moselle, the Lieser castle surprises with its lavish historicism style, before finally luring visitors to Bernkastel-Kues with its gable-cellar houses, medieval market and Landshut, a former summer residence of the archbishops of Trier.

Nice tour around Maastricht. The ladies were shopping, I'm hiking. It could not be better! The area is beautiful, an idyllic hilly landscape with many architectural highlights: castles, villas, mills, even a former secret underground NATO headquarters! And the next frietjes are never far away. 😋
