The Soviet Cemetery of Honor between Odrzańska and Szczecińska Streets houses the only remnant of the late-Gothic ensemble of the Gertrudenstifte, a chapel built in the 15th century. She, too, probably would not have survived until our time, had it not been for the intervention of the monument conservationist in 1953.

The church was built in 1420 and after Saint Gertrud of Nivelles it was named Gertraudenkapelle. Since 1945, the chapel has been destroyed and is located in the immediate vicinity of the military cemetery.
