The narrow-gauge railway connected Möckmühl with Dörzbach and ran for approximately 40 kilometers through the idyllic Jagst Valley, including Jagsthausen. The line opened in 1905 and remained in operation until the 1980s, most recently primarily for freight traffic.

Hiking

The Jagst Valley Railway was operated as a single-track narrow-gauge railway (750 mm gauge) until 1988. It was 39.2 km long and ran from Möckmühl to Dörzbach along the Jagst.
Attempts to revive it as an excursion and tourist railway failed because some towns along the railway rejected renovation as it would be too expensive and too complex.
