The five creeks (approx. 65 ha) are typical for Sint-Jan-in-Eremo. The creeks are old peat pits, which were created by the reclamation of the marsh or peat areas. These wells became increasingly eroded during countless floods and storm surges. The Bentillekreek is one of the five creeks in Sint-Jan-in-Eremo. It has a very whimsical shape and is bordered by the Leopold Canal.
