    Beautiful views of Haigerloch.
The present Haigerloch Castle dates back to a castle complex from the 13th century. Before the castle was built, there was already a predecessor building in the Baden-Württemberg town. This was first mentioned in documents in 1095 and probably stood on the site where the so-called Roman Tower can be found today. This complex once belonged to the Counts of Wiesneck, then to the Counts of Hohenberg. It was precisely these counts who built a second castle on the site where today's Haigerloch Castle is located. In 1381 it passed to the Habsburgs, and in 1497 Count Eitel Friedrich II of Zollern became the new owner.

The castle church was also rebuilt at this time and has been in the Baroque style ever since.

Overlooking the city is the imposing Haigerloch Castle, surrounded by the forests of Zollernalb. The first mention of the settlement of a castle in Haigerloch dates back to 1095. After a splendid story, the castle is forgotten. Until 1970 it was used as an education and research center. Five years later, Paul Eberhard Schwenk bought the building and converted it into a five-star hotel with a restaurant. Interest aroused? Then click on this link: schloss-haigerloch.de.
