Below the entrance gate to the De Kevie nature reserve is a mural by the British-Australian artist James Cochran, alias Jimmy C. The creation, which is no less than 18 meters long and 4 meters wide, was created to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the Belgian Center for Guide Dogs (BCG) in Tongeren.

The founder of the Belgian Center for Guide Dogs was Adeline Valkenborg. Adeline herself became blind at the age of 14 and looked for a guide dog in Belgium, but ultimately only found one in England. Because she was so satisfied with her guide dog, she and some friends founded the Belgian Center for Guide Dogs to also train guide dogs in Belgium and deliver them free of charge to blind and visually impaired people. The training center in Tongeren was named after her.
