From 1897, four steam tram lines were built in and around Tongeren. Three tram lines were operated by the SNCV Limburg department, a fourth tram line was operated by the SNCV Liège department. The economically important tram connection to the Liège conurbation was electrified on 14 August 1932. This tram line was discontinued on December 23, 1961 as the last local railway line in the territory of the provinces of Limburg and Liège. The tram line that left here was (I think: correct me if I'm wrong 😏) line 479 to Maastricht. It was closed on May 4, 1955.
