The Saint-Gilliskapel, sometimes also referred to as a church, is a small church building in Mulken (Tongeren). The chapel is located on the Mulkerstraat on the east side of the town. When the street was widened in 1871, the walled cemetery surrounding the chapel was shortened. In the 11th century, there was mention of a quarter chapel located here, which was served by a rector. This was possibly founded by the lords of Mulken. Possibly around 1200, the building was replaced by a chapel in transitional style. The pointed arch between the nave and the tower of this chapel remains. The current tower was built at the end of the 13th century. In 1690, construction of a new chapel (the choir) was started by Pierre de Simonis, lord of Betho. In 1727, the building was further finished by François de Hinnisdael, the heir of the aforementioned lord.
