On the Flößersteig you take stairs up to the Schlegelhütte. If you like it more exciting and challenging, you can go up the steep metal stairs through the rock (see "Hermannstiege").

The Hermannstiege is a highlight and highly recommended, especially for children. The path is not particularly difficult or dangerous, just very narrow. You actually shouldn't have a wide cross or a wide backpack on your back. It is also advisable to take any bottles out of the side pockets of the backpack, as they can lead to blockages (like mine did),-)

Hiking

The climb up the metal steps to the “Herrmannstiege” is absolutely unproblematic. If you want to go up the "Hermannstiege" and have a wide cross, you should really be careful here and either take the easy route or, like Klaus, climb the stairs like a crab with a backpack in front. Klaus had to go back quite a bit because his shoulders were too broad and he couldn't get any further 🫣😂 Nevertheless, he had fun 👍🤗
⚡⚡Claustrophobia is a big issue in the stairs, because space is in absolute short supply and rather non-existent ⚡⚡
