Tips

The backpack should not be too wide, because the stairs are really narrow.

Worthwhile climb to the refuge. For anyone (s) doable :) a bit tight but adventurous!

I would recommend climbing the steep stairs.
It's a bit tight in some places, but worth it. However, we left our large backpacks downstairs.
The descent over the longer path then has a completely different charm. 🙄

Really blatant when you go up the narrow staircase between the rocks. Really worth seeing and adventure who does not know something like that.

The ascent through the crevice is defective. a highlight on the Flößersteig. To whom this seems too narrow or impossible to create; the comfortable way is also very nice :)
At peak times, the descent through the rocks is not recommended or involves a considerable waiting time.

Very close climb, but worth it. There is also an alternative way;)

Narrow crevice. Very exciting for children and those who have stayed slim. Can be used for child carriers, etc. be bypassed.

Here you have the best chance of getting stuck in the mountain, hihi

In bad weather you can sit in the Schlegelhütte and study a few inscriptions ...

Spectacular ascent - here you shouldn't be too fat or claustrophobic, even the backpack won't fit through ...

... beautiful ascent - the perfect break place!

Before the Hermannstiege you should inspect your body to see if you fit through this narrow staircase ... 😅🙋‍♂️

Very narrow gorge to climb ... nothing for plump people or a large backpack ...

Absolutely adventurous and quite steep climb over 71 rather narrow metal stairs. There is nothing to hold on to except the side walls and stairs. If you carry a backpack with you on your back, you should consider whether you shouldn't carry it better in front of you as you climb, because in between it will be quite tight both on the side (approx. 50cm) and on the back. If you are not excessively large or stable, you can get through.

The stairs must NOT be used in the descent. It only serves the ascent which should also be observed with regard to the safety of the hikers!

An adventure for children. And with the rucksack forward, you can get up even as an adult of normal weight.

We did the tour the other way round. Also interesting. Instead of climbing, we have made the Hermannseck down

If you climb in from above, it does better backwards.

Long stairs lead through very narrow rock walls.

This climb is not for the faint of heart. The gap is narrow, the stairs are steep. Fortunately, there is an alternative ascent via a normal staircase.
Either way, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of Bohemian Switzerland.

This is more for brave hikers. Just before that is the "comfortable" way with normal stairs for everyone else
