In the Kirnitzsch Valley near Sebnitz, you can take a boat trip on the Upper Lock, which operates from early April to late October and offers a trip through the Kirnitzsch Gorge over a dam section of approximately 700 meters. A boat trip through the narrow Kirnitzsch Gorge features bizarre rock formations, which the boatman depicts as "mountain spirits," "crocodiles," or "elephant." After the approximately 20-minute trip, the tour ends at a dam wall, from which the water plunges thunderously into the depths.
