The inscription was carved in 1856 and the text is by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The name "Balzers Lager" goes back to the "courtship of the capercaillie" and the falconry that was once common here on the Falkenstein. Balzers Lager is a huge boofe, a rock overhang that served as a refuge for the Dittersbachers in troubled times.
