Hitzacker is a small cozy place with comparatively good infrastructure for cyclists. I took the ferry to the other shore and drove to Neu Darchau, where I took the ferry back to the other shore and back to Hitzacker. The city of Hitzacker (Elbe) has also made a name for itself as a venue for important music festivals. In winter, the music week Hitzacker takes place under the artistic direction of Ludwig Güttler. In summer, connoisseurs of fine chamber music meet for the Summer Music Festival Hitzacker.
