The Saint Martin church of Gors-Opleeuw...

The tower of the current church dates from the early 15th century. It is built in marlstone and stands on a pedestal of flint. The tower consists of three sections.
The brick nave of the church dates from around 1775. It is a pseudo-cross basilica. The designer may have been designed by A.M. Sepeult from Malmedy

A special building in a very special castle village. The tower and the rest of the church are clearly from different periods with a beautiful tower in marlstone from the fifteenth century and a rear extension (nave and choir) that seems enormous from some perspectives.

The church is situated on a mound with the walled cemetery where there is also a war memorial. Various old grave crosses.

Text from the heritage experts: "The Sint-Martinus church is surrounded by a spacious walled cemetery with some remarkable lime trees and various grave crosses. The main entrance is flanked by two bluestone pillars. The church consists of a 14th or 15th century Gothic tower, an 18th century nave and an early 20th century transept and choir designed by Mathieu Christiaens."

Various grave crosses are also built into the cemetery wall.
